Chapter Profile

Islamabad Chapter has the privilege to be the first PMI chapter in Pakistan. Islamabad is the capital of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and is hub of activities for not only the Government development projects but is a focus of attention for international organizations which keep starting a number of social projects from time to time. Unfortunately, the project management is not being recognized as a primary skill for these development and social projects and most of the work goes unplanned. In recent years, there has been growing awareness of project management as a number of serious organizations started planning deliberately before launching themselves into any such projects. Feeling the need of the hour Mr. Sohail Iqbal laid the foundation of Islamabad chapter in early 2002. The chapter is run by the president along with a board of directors who are elected by chapter members after every two years.
